Movies are a sunny escape
Nothing better than a sunny day to spend watching movies. And this weekend, at least, some pretty good movies are opening. From the reinvented (reimagined, deconstructed?) “The Amazing Spider-Man” to Woody Allen’s ode to Italy “To Rome With Love ” to Oliver Stone’s newest paen to violence “Savages,” the mainstream theaters are filled with quality.
I’m less enthused about “Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Witness Protection.” But then you could also watch the strange blend of documentary/reality show titled “Kathy Perry: Part of Me” (even in 3-D if you choose).
That’s hardly all. At the Magic Lantern, we have the French thriller “Polisse,” the Robert Pattinson drama “Bel Ami” and the documentary “Bill W.”
Anyway, happy viewing.
