Time to learn a bit about beer
Most guys I know love beer. Used to be that meant whatever we could get that was cheap. Bud, for example, or PBR. Maybe Miller. Later, it meant Coors to those not put off by the ownership’s politics. Then it meant imports, especially Heinekens. Or Dox XX. Or those big cans of Foster’s Lager.
More recently, of course, beer has mean microbrew. And these days, despite the ads for such product as Keystone, many guys consider themselves beer gourmets. They know an IPA from an amber, a stout from a porter. At the same time, many of us still want to know more.
Which is why it’s good news that July 25 marks the first-ever Greater Spokane/Inland Empire Craft Brewers Gathering. Mark Irvin, cofounder of host No-Li Brewhouse , will lead the gathering. Some 13 brewers are expected to participate, with former Spokesman-Review beer writer Rick Bonino acting as discussion moderator.
