Booking a failed literary moment
Nothing worse than a closed bookstore. But that’s the situation I found myself in on a recent Saturday when, as my wife sauntered through Sandpoint’s Coldwater Creek outlet, I found myself locked out of one of North Idaho’s little literary treasures — the Corner Book Store.
How was I supposed to know that the store closed at 5 on Saturdays? The other most recent time I had been there was with other authors whose work had been collected in the crime anthology “Dead Night in Spokane.” So I walked up and down the street, dreaming of used books, before my wife finally rejoined me and we headed home.
Hope you plan better.
