Play Ball!!!!!

Tricia Jo Webster

There’s just something about Minor League ball. Maybe I’m romanticizing the whole thing, but to me it seems like those guys are out on the field for the love of the game, and I love that. Sure, a lot of them go on to make millions, and that’s cool, too. But on Spokane summer nights there’s nothing better than a cold beer, a hot dog and a few hours of honest to goodness baseball. Tickets are cheap (they start at $5), you don’t have to take out a second mortgage to buy a beverage, and don’t even get me started on the awesomeness of Otto.

This Friday (that’s June 15 for those of you keeping track at home) the Spokane Indians take the field against Vancouver in their Opening Day game! Yay! And, if you don’t have anything better to do, plan to stay after the game for the fireworks extravaganza! BOOM!
