Whooping it up!
I’ve been meaning to do this for weeks. Today I finally made time. It took about 15 minutes, from the time I checked into the downtown Group Health clinic to the time I walked out, freshly immunized against tetanus, diptheria and pertussis.
You might ask why a healthy adult woman would do such a thing. Well, you see, this summer a couple new babies will be making their way into our family and it’s my job to be everyone’s favorite Auntie. And, so, the shot. Because those wee ones just can’t fight the big fights, I chose to remove myself from the battle.
There are snugglefests in my future and that makes the fact that tonight I feel like someone slugged my left arm with a sledge hammer completely worth it.
