Looking ahead to a real ‘White Christmas’

I may already be tired of the pre-Christmas advertisements that are being aimed at us from every direction. And I can’t believe that I’ve already sat through my first Christmas-themed movie (“The Best Man Holiday”).

Those sentiments won’t dampen my attitude toward the upcoming Bing Crosby Holiday Film Festival , which will be held at the Bing Crosby Theater Dec. 14 and 15. The films, all of which hard back to a far more innocent era, are among the crooner’s most heartfelt, if not necessarily best.

The lineup includes “White Christmas” and “Going My Way” on Saturday, Dec. 14. And “Holiday Inn,” “High Society” and a reprise of “White Christmas” on Sunday, Dec. 15 (with a performance of songs by Howard Crosby , whose father was Bing Crosby’s older brother).
