56% Of State Workers Make Low Pay

Some interesting stats about current state employee pay were presented to lawmakers this afternoon by legislative budget analyst Robyn Lockett, who noted that as of December, 20 percent of Idaho’s state workers made less than $20,000 a year, and another 36 percent made more than $20,000 but less than $40,000. That means 56 percent make less than $40,000. That’s among all 25,501 state employees, a figure that includes all state employees whose pay is processed through the state Controller’s office, including elected officials and employees of state colleges and universities, but not public schools/ Eye on Boise.
