Thanks for library support

On behalf of the board of trustees, I want to thank the voters who turned out for the recent library bond election.

We appreciated the endorsement of The Spokesman-Review editorial board. Your support helped to inform voters about the role libraries play in building strong communities. Subsequent stories provided information about the three library projects so voters could make an informed decision.

A special thanks to the volunteers who canvassed neighborhoods to encourage residents to vote on this important issue. A majority of voters approved the formation of a capital facilities area and funding. Unfortunately, a supermajority was needed to approve the funding proposition.

As Spokane County Library District trustees, we will continue to guide the district and dedicate existing resources to support the wide array of programs, services and materials that serve people of all ages. We are committed to the Library District’s mission to inspire learning, advance knowledge and connect communities.
