When the newspapers start to stack up
There is a character in this 2010 novel who is years behind on her newspaper reading. But she continues to whittle away at her stacks, reading in order and not skipping ahead.
I think of her sometimes when facing my tall stack of copies of The New York Times. I’m tempted sometimes to lug the whole mound out to recycling. But I wouldn’t want to miss the obits.
