Sign of the times
It’s a free country.
So the homeowner in question can do what he wants. But I have wondered about his motivation.
Every weekday, I ride my bike past a yard sporting a row of campaign signs. The property in question is on a quiet South Hill street. It belongs to a guy who used to hold political office. We have exchanged waves a time or two. I never felt it necessary to shout, “Hey, I voted against you as hard as I could.”
Anyway, one of the signs endorses a controversial state legislator whose district is in Spokane Valley. And it makes me wonder.
What is the point of having a sign for someone neither you nor virtually anyone passing by could vote for on Election Day?
I suppose the resident just wants to show where he stands. Though, I have to say, the other signs in his yard make that pretty clear.
