Some mistakes are so dumb they don’t even merit a correction
Once, many years ago, I referred in print to a county manager as the “country manager.”
Let me tell you, he enjoyed the promotion.
Don’t think we ran a correction. I mean, what would we have said?
“Jack Smith, county manager for Coconino County, is not actually in charge of the entire nation. The Sun regrets the error.”
