Rooting interest
So the Tampa Bay Lightning and Detroit Red Wings meet in a seventh game later today to decide which team advances in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
I have not really cared about an NHL team since Vermont’s John LeClair retired ages ago. But here are the stakes.
Tampa Bay actually has a player who was born and raised in Spokane, Tyler Johnson. He has been one of the stars of the series.
A guy I like here at the S-R coached Johnson when Tyler was a kid.
So there’s that.
But if the Red Wings advance, my sister-in-law’s husband will get us tickets to a second-round game next month when I am in Michigan for a visit. I like him and am inclined to root for his team.
Assuming you could imagine for one second that you gave a rip about any of this, for which team would you root?
