Paul’s People, No. 42
This is my friend Wade Griffith. We met in person for the first time just this morning.
But we have been corresponding since the ‘90s.
Wade is a bank executive. His Slice contributions over the years have addressed all sorts of issues. One of my favorite themes is his recollections of his boyhood in the Silver Valley.
Several years ago he dealt with a serious illness with courage and grace. Which is exactly what his friends would have expected.
He’s a good man.
Here’s one of Wade’s Slice contributions from nine years ago.
He noted that all campaign ads seem to be some variation on or combination of three themes.
1. Taking credit for past events in which the candidate had no role.
2. Accusing the opponent of past actions the opponent did not take.
3. Promising future outcomes that neither can possibly deliver.
