How many can’t identify aroma of marijuana?

So there was this scruffy young man in a Spokane grocery store who gave off such a powerful smell of reefer that I wasn’t sure whether to grimace or laugh.

Following him down the aisle was like being in a pot cloud. You can’t get high just from smelling it, can you?

Then I wondered. How many people could not identify that telltale scent? Surely, some would be baffled even in a state where marijuana is legal.

My guess is that five out of 100 Spokane area residents would not know the origin of that aroma. Older people mostly.

But that’s just a guess. What’s yours?
