Things you learn from news briefs
We have all heard about the damage studded tires do to road surfaces.
But this morning I learned that these tires are not the only source of extraordinary wear and tear on pavement.
Maybe you saw it. Some guy discharged a gun, firing a shot into a paved surface.
Are road-building engineers supposed to factor in that kind of abuse when choosing materials for repaving projects?
Perhaps this was an isolated incident. But any of us who have read our share of stories about unusual gunplay in the Spokane area might have reason to wonder.
Are gun shots the real reason our roads don’t last?
