Update: Panel Rejects ‘Instant Racing’
The Senate State Affairs Committee has voted in favor of SB 1011, to repeal instant racing in Idaho; that sends the bill to the full Senate for a vote. If it passes there and in the House and receives the governor’s signature, the machines now installed at three locations in Idaho would become illegal as of July 1. There was only one “no” vote, from acting Sen. Kimberly Johnson of Caldwell, who is filling in for Sen. Patti Anne Lodge, R-Huston. Johnson disclosed earlier that she has a potential conflict of interest because she is involved in the horse industry/ Betsy Russell , Eye on Boise. More here .
