Thanks for ‘ag-gag’ editorial

Many thanks to the editorial staff of The Spokesman-Review for urging (Jan. 20) the rejection of House Bill 1104, which “creates the crime of interference with agricultural production.” You clearly stated reasonable objections to this bill, identifying its true purpose: being to shield agricultural producers from “revelations about cruel or unsafe conditions in the facilities that process our food.”

Animals and food workers clearly need our protection. Your editorials can have such an important impact on the public; sharing important information and spurring the citizenry to action. I hope everyone will contact their legislators to urge rejection of this bill.
