JBelle: Viva Le Carousel!

JBelle (RE: Questions for Carousel fans ): You might be surprised just how many trees have been cut down in that park in my lifetime and how the park continues to evolve and change. When they cut the trees down that line the Champs d’Alene :) I didn’t think I’d ever get over it or I would ever forgive the Parks Department. But I did. On both accounts. The park is not an arboretum but a park— for people , for families. As needs change, the park should too. There are plenty of us who feel that mothballing the Carousel was extremely foolish and thus a whole generation and a half has not had the joy of riding the Carousel on the north shore of Lake Coeur d’Alene on their birthday, a bright, sunny hot day in summer. That joy will now be back. Parks in Coeur d’Alene are increasing, not decreasing, and should be maintained as vital, viable, vibrant meeting places for all. Viva Le Carousel!
