Don’t blame all media for a “media” timeout
Have you noticed that at certain sports venues the game being halted to accommodate television commercials is now referred to as a “media timeout”?
Well, sports fans are accustomed to these delays. But a friend of mine who works for a print/online publication wishes the public address announcers would be a bit more precise.
Those “timeouts” are all about TV and, to a lesser extent, radio. It’s not all “media” that have brought things to a halt.
Say what you will about newspapers. They don’t slow down basketball games.
