Living in the past

Do you pay any attention to how the sports teams are doing at the high school you attended?

I guess it would make sense if you still lived near the school or have a child who went there.

Personally, I haven’t lived anywhere near my high school in 40 years. And I have not paid much attention to that school’s athletic fortunes in a long time.

But I recently started following a couple of Vermont newspapers on Twitter. And their tweeted updates on the state high school hockey playoffs actually nudged me into taking notice.

Anything like that ever happen to you? Maybe not. Perhaps you did not care even when you were a student. Not everyone is into sports, after all.

But I sort of enjoyed keeping tabs on the hockey tournament.

Oh, Essex beat South Burlington in triple overtime to win the Division 1 state title.
