One way Spokane is not Canadian in behavior
Trying to use the drive-up mailbox outside the post office on South Grand can be an adventure on Saturday mornings during kids’ soccer season.
That’s because parents bringing their children to the playing fields next to Sacajawea Middle School sometimes encounter a packed parking lot. Then a few of them make a dumbass decision. They go ahead and park in the drive-up post office lane. Sometimes enough of them do this that access to the mailbox is iffy and occasionally impossible.
I’m not suggesting this is a federal crime. But what sort of message does that send to the soccer kids?
That’s pretty easy to answer.
“Our family’s convenience is all that matters and everyone else can go to blazes.”
