Yard waste vs. meal plan for winter

A lot of Spokane area homeowners have fruit trees in their backyard.

And many of these people share their property with squirrels.

So here’s the question.

When clearing your yard before the first snowfall, do you make a point to leave some of the fallen apples or whatever for your rodent neighbors?

OK,  it’s not unusual to put food out for birds. But what about leaving yard waste for squirrels?
