I tweeted something the other day about my fondness for pickled beets. (Really makes you wish you followed me, doesn’t it?)

A friend wrote back that I was quite the rebel.

He’s right.

Anyway, I wanted to pass along a tip.

If you are looking for something that will create fake blood stains for Halloween, I recommend using the liquid from a can of pickled beets.

Of course, the stains might not come out. But if you are going for an authentic look, that’s a small price to pay.
