Cats must resent dry leaves

No matter how they try, cats can’t achieve total silence as they move across a yard.

At least where dry fallen leaves cover all the ground.

It’s not a lot of rustling. But you can hear it.

Perhaps that is nature’s way of helping squirrels prepare for winter unmolested. Though it’s anybody’s guess how natural selection would have factored in the presence of countless feline predators who sleep inside with their human families and then go outside to hunt.
