The sports/geography nexus

If you were presented with three high school football scores, and the names of the schools included no place names or other geographic information, what are the chances you could identify, with some specificity, the part of the country where those games were played?

I think I would be fairly good at that. Feel free to challenge me.

But I suspect several staffers in the S-R’s sports department would truly excel.
