Voices on the water

We all know that sound carries to a remarkable extent over water.

When it’s quiet on the lake, it is possible to hear conversations taking place on the other side of the cove.

You don’t really have to make an effort to eavesdrop. Sometimes it just happens.

But here’s the thing. Have you ever heard anything interesting?

Ever heard “I think Cathy is having an affair” or “These last Saturdays of summer seem so languid and bittersweet”?
