“Never heard of it”
So I’m watching the North Dakota vs. Quinnipiac college hockey championship on ESPN2 and it occurs to me that a fair number of people around here might never have heard of the Connecticut college.
That’s fine. But what if you were a Spokane resident who graduated from Quinnipiac?
I’m sure most locals are fairly gracious. You know: “Where is that? I’m not familiar with your school.” Et cetera.
But what about the dismissive “Never heard of it” charmers? What would you say to them?
A) “Nobody at Quinnipiac has ever heard of you either.” B) “There are schools around here that don’t have high name recognition in New England either.” C) “It’s a Native American word that means we’re done talking.” D) Other.
