“Can you handle one more autograph story?” wrote Marilyn Fleenor.

“In the late ‘70s I was in Reno, Nevada, and had gone to a Kenny Rogers show. This was shortly after he started his solo career after leaving the First Edition. I enjoyed the show and afterwards, my friends and I saw him gambling in the casino. After much coaxing from my friends, I decided to ask him for an autograph during a lull in his gambling. Anyone who knows me would know how much courage it took for this shy, small-town girl to do such a thing.

“Much to my shame, his answer to me was ‘NO, can’t you see that I am gambling!’ The look on his face spoke volumes. I slunk away with my tail between my legs and tears in my eyes. I have never asked for an autograph since and never will.”

How much do you want to bet that Kenny was losing when Marilyn approached him?
