What to call older women

As you may recall, a Slice reader sought a substitute for “crones,” which she said the young women in a group to which she belongs used to describe senior members.

Kathy Wright had a proposal.

“I call we gals ‘older chicks,’” she wrote. “It makes us sound hip and, maybe, seem like a youngish oldster.”
