Faith and football

The Denver Broncos advancing to the Super Bowl reminds me of the time the young son of a couple of my colleagues wanted to wear his Broncos helmet to church on that particular Sunday.

It must have been 1998. (I had to look it up.)

As I recall, his mom and dad nixed young Joe’s plan to combine worship and sports fandom.

I’m sure Joe got over it. After all, his team would win later that day.

But I wonder how parents faced with that situation would rule in 2016.
