Look elsewhere, Avista

It troubles me when I read that Avista Utilities is putting in for another rate increase. This time it’s for the wind damage we all got from the great windstorm.

I wonder, do they not have a business plan that includes natural disasters, like maybe a 10-, 20- or 50-year plan for maintenance on some outdated dam or power generating system?

It seems the only plan they have is to jack up the customer rates. I don’t understand how they keep coming every year back to the trough. What are they doing, privatizing the profit and socializing the losses? Sounds like they’re in the banking business.

Let me tell Avista, I did not get a raise last year on my Social Security, so please look elsewhere for your increase.
