Jeannie Maki’s rules for big predators

Jeannie Maki, a longtime Slice reader, lives out in the country up near Colville.

She has a live and let live attitude about wildlife. But she has limits.

Here are her simple rules.

Cougars: “Stay off the porch and leave the dog alone.”

Bears: “I don’t mind them eating the fruit, just don’t tear the trees apart.”

Seems pretty reasonable.
