Football in the snow
The Slice had asked about playing football in snow.
That prompted a note from Sheila Barnes.
“I was not a player, but I was the time and scorekeeper for an intramural football game played November 4, 1973 at Whitworth College after an unexpected dump of snow which continued at game time. Marking off the yard lines was a challenge, staying warm was a challenge, catching the ball was a challenge, but no one suggested the game should be postponed and all had a great time. Here’s a picture of those of us students officiating — me in the middle.”
