Embarrassed by Christians

My wife thought something heavy had fallen on me. I was yelling at the radio, while Ralph Reed, founder of the Faith and Freedom Coalition explained away Donald Trump’s most recent taped obscenities. I am embarrassed and grieved by the defenses given Trump by my brothers and sisters in Christ. I am also grateful for wise voices such as Christianity Today, who have called out Trump as the biblical definition of a fool.

The recent PBS documentary, “Decision 2016,” should be required viewing for every voter. It traced the lives and careers of both presidential candidates from childhood on. What was most significant about Trump was his indoctrination by his father that a “winner” had to be a “killer.” This was someone who never admits he is wrong and never loses.

Christians who excuse Trump with “we are all sinners” make a mockery of the gospel. Sin requires repentance, something Trump’s whole philosophy will not allow. It also leads to the present truly dangerous rant that the election is rigged. Of course it must be, he cannot lose.

Trump is not the “lesser of two evils.” He is the greatest evil I have ever seen in a presidential candidate.
