Preparing for summer vacation travels

What do people from around here find themselves being asked when strangers in far-away places learn they are from Washington or Idaho?

Something about Seattle or potatoes maybe. So you can plan on politely setting them straight. Or, if you are not in the mood, just smiling and saying, “Yeah, OK chief, whatever you say.”

But there’s no sense pretending this doesn’t happen. I mean, don’t you ask someone from Kansas if he has ever seen a tornado or ask someone from Alaska if she has ever seen a bear feeding on salmon? Sure. It’s natural.

This probably gets simpler for locals, though, if they always wear a Zags shirt during their travels.
