Have you ever looked back on your long-ago romance stylings and found yourself confronting compelling evidence that you were an idiot?

I have.

I’m not sure why, but I recently found myself recalling a not-so-great moment in my relationships with women.

Long ago, I read an interview with Ann-Margret in which she noted that when she gained weight, it tended to go right to her breasts. I found this fascinating, and so shared this news tidbit with a woman I was seeing.

She found the anecdote somewhat less riveting. In fact, I’m pretty sure she thought my interest in Ann-Margret’s front porch was a tad unseemly. Which, I suppose, it was. But that’s the thing about news items.Not everyone finds the same stories interesting.
