Tax bill great for families?
Cathy McMorris Rodgers and the GOP say their recent tax bill is “great” for working families. Really? Rich donors get $5.5 trillion per decade. $1.5 trillion per decade adds to the deficit. The other $4 trillion per decade comes out of our pockets.
Like Reagan’s 1986 “time bomb tax bill,” working families get a minuscule cut until our attention is elsewhere, then “bam,” up go our taxes automatically. By 1992, Reagan’s bill gradually deleted deductions such as car and credit card interest and 7.5 percent of medical costs. Working families ended up paying 10 percent higher tax while the rich were relatively unaffected.
The rich donors who permanently benefit from this new “time bomb” tax bill give McMorris Rodgers and politicians millions to buy their races. This bill completes the cycle of corruption that keeps Cathy serving only the rich and ignoring the needs of working and farming families.
Fool us once; shame on them for the corruption, lies and deceit. Fool us twice; shame on us for being gullible dupes accepting trickle-down, disappearing benefits. Our vote is the final say. Use it to throw the “bumette” out.
