Great meetings with CMR

I am a respiratory therapist. For over seven years, I’ve been traveling to Washington, D.C., as a volunteer to advocate for patients in Washington state with lung disorders. Each year, we visit every representative and both senators from our state. It’s not uncommon to meet with aides in the busy halls of Congress. I have done it on numerous occasions.

Having said that, Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers has taken the time and met with us personally on every single visit. She listens to us and then goes to work to fix the problems we face. Last year, she introduced H.R. 4229, the Protecting HOME Access Act, which puts real people first by increasing access to and affordability of important in-home medical equipment. This was a bill that specifically came from a conversation we had with her.

Cathy is a true representative of the people because she listens and works tirelessly to deliver results. She’s not a respiratory therapist. But after she met with us, she saw the importance of acting on our behalf.

I’ll be voting for Cathy in August and I look forward to meeting with her again in D.C. next year.
