Should CMR resign?

Concerning the article in The Spokesman-Review on Feb. 4, “Virginia governor should resign over blackface row,” Cathy McMorris Rodgers needs to get her priorities straight or possibly she should consider resigning.

I am not minimizing what could be racist, poor judgment, or stupidity for what Virginia Gov. Northam did 35 years ago as a college student, if it is him in those pictures. If CMR is so concerned about the potential damage an elected official can inflict upon our country, she should consider introducing legislation to remove the power of the president of the United States of America to shut down the government. The recent shutdown has financially cost the country billions while jeopardizing our security.
