My grandson’s world

It is horrific to me to live in this country where the jagged vitriolic presence of Donald Trump has been allowed the viperous voice of hate and contempt. That people stand up and cheer “Make America Great Again.” Have they lost all sense of purpose, dignity, compassion and right action? It chews at the very heart of decency and intent of this democracy. Is this the world my grandson has been brought into?

On his first birthday, I pray for a country wide change of heart. I pray for kindness and respect in the exploration we are all called to when opinions differ.

Donald Trump does not provide “leadership.” Have we lost our minds as well as our way to think this type of behavior has anything to do with “greatness”? What in God’s name and teachings are you thinking?
