Proud to vote for Sherazi

My ballot for the Spokane City Council primary election in Spokane arrived on July 19.

I proudly have a bright orange sign in my front yard.

The name on the sign is Nahgmana Sherazi – a woman who will bring a wealth of experience, balance and special insights to represent our evolving, wonderful city.

She is a woman, and a person of color, who is a practicing Muslim, active in our community for several years, working on peace and justice issues, and migrant settlement.

As a former Army officer, and volunteer chef for the homeless for 25 years, I see her as best equipped of the candidates to resolve the issues at hand.

I am glad she is here.
