Thank you, Dr. Lutz

I have long admired Dr. Lutz’s service and candor. His vital work during the COVID-19 crisis has been exemplary, our community is fortunate to have someone like him as our county health officer.

I also commend the courage he demonstrated in his letter to the editor on May 3 (“Editorial does disservice to community”), criticizing an April 19 Spokesman editorial which trivialized the deaths of “relatively small number of lives that statistically tend to be older and have pre-existing conditions.”

Bravo, Dr. Lutz, keep up the good work.

Dave Wilson
