For the betterment of the community

I am an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Spokane. I am writing in support of adjusting the level of fluoride in Spokane’s water supply to provide the known benefits fluoride has on strengthening teeth.

My practice is focused on extraction of teeth, and I witness daily the impact that lack of water fluoridation has on the teeth in our community. Most major cities in our country allow water fluoridation, as the benefits are widely known. It is no coincidence that Spokane consistently ranks amongst the worst cities for dental health in our country.

It is time to take action and do what is right for our community. Rampant dental decay present in this city can be dramatically improved through water fluoridation. It is the right thing to do for health equity!
