To Stud Or Not To Stud — There’s Another Question

re: GreenL’s decision to opt for studded tires in defiance of the Bobosphere here:

The major tire stores are all jammed packed right now, so I found some independent tire jockey in lovely east Spokane who had exactly one customer in front of me, I was out of there in 35 minutes and saved $20 over what Alton’s charges. But there was no popcorn, coffee, and the waiting room was unheated! Hmmm, better check my lugnuts — GreenL.

Question: GreenL brings up an interesting issue. We’ve been debating “studs/no studs.” But how about prices. Some of these thievin’ tire companies are charging more than $50 to put on a set of tires. What did you pay, GreenL? And what do some of you other studs out there pay?
