Peanut Gallery — A TGIF Special Session Start?
Jane Q. Citizen: I wonder about the one day special session date, on a Friday no less. So if that special session ran over and they had to meet again the following Monday do we poor schmuck taxpayers pick up the tab for the legislators' hotels/meals to stay in Boise over the weekend or another round trip airline ticket so they can come home for a couple of days? One day to accomplish anything in the legislature is a fantasy.
DFO: If Gov. Risch starts the special session on a Friday, you can bet he has the votes lined up to make quick work of property tax relief. He could have things wrapped up by the following day -- and have a legacy in 7 months that will rival Dirk Kempthorne's 7-plus years.
