Peanut Gallery: DanG Can’t Wait For Kroc Center
DanG: As a Summer Theater maven, you know that NIC's venue is booked. The Lake City Playhouse is busy with their summer Children's Theater. Songbird is busy. There is just a lack of good theatrical venues here in CDA for us to present the show. Anyone in theater will tell you that CDA has a dearth of performance space. That's one reason I'm looking forward to the Kroc Center opening as it will be yet another stage.
DFO: I've been meaning to ask this question to someone in the arts community for some time. So, you're the pigeon, DanG. Why doesn't a community as viewtiful as ours have an arts "feel." When I lived in the Flathead Valley, I was aware and proud that it was a western art mecca and had a thriving performing arts community. Although the Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre and the Lake City Playhouse do well, I've never associated Coeur d'Alene automatically with a strong arts image. Is it me? Or are we still finding our way?
