Scuba: If You’re Too Cheap, Walk

Scuba Steve (RE: NIC to charge for 4th of July parking): "The main reason NIC wants to obtain parking revenues is to cover the extra costs for this event (security, custodial costs, and restroom supplies). If NIC does not collect the extra parking revenue, that increased cost will have to come from somewhere else. This will allow NIC to ensure that funds are spent on the education that you mentioned and not cleaning up after people. People often feel that just because they pay property taxes toward NIC that they are entitled to so many things. NIC is not charging for all parking. The northern parking lots are still free which seems generous to me. If you have a problem with the whole $5, spend the extra 5 minutes to walk a little bit further. NIC does a lot for this community and you need to recognize it and stop criticizing. Sorry for my rant but I love NIC and wish people would not make these political attacks."

DFO: I agree with Scuba Steve. $5 is a small fee to pay to park at North Idaho College on the 4th of July? Further thoughts?
