Start a movement

The Spokesman-Review

In my opinion, the reason Congress isn’t moving on health care reform is because they do not understand and/or don’t care. They do not experience the current system’s failures personally nor do their immediate family members. So if we citizens want an affordable and adequate system for ourselves, we should start a movement to deny members of Congress and maybe all federal government employees their overly generous benefits until the rest of us have benefits comparable to European and Canadian citizens.

I’m becoming more and more angry with each day that passes with no positive progress. And this anger is coming on top of the anger I feel about the way Wall Street and the big banks were bailed out. They are already back to sucking the blood out of everyone else.

The smug commentators on cable TV, with their undereducated, misinformed, self indulgent opinions, are turning me into a dangerous radical. I hope I’m not the only one who wants more respect shown for the nation’s blue-collar workers. I hope I’m not alone.
