Flat roofs, snow bad match

The Spokesman-Review

I am hoping that lessons learned from this winter will be a heads-up to the contractors, builders, whoever, that flat roofs in this area of the country may be cheaper to build but obviously not practical with our winters. Especially this one.

Wake up, people. Fine for down South. Originally, I’m from the Midwest. You don’t see much for flat roofs. It is not practical and dangerous, as this area has found out.

Fortunately, so far, no one has gotten hurt or worse from this ridiculous architectural design flaw. To say it is easier to clean off and take care of, maybe. But I was always told not to walk on your roof as much as possible.

This winter so far has been just like the ones I grew up with back in Wisconsin. Fun, then, I was a kid. Not so much anymore. Bring on spring.
