Parkinson’s Resource Center
It was Mark Twain who said, “The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.”
Following a recent article in The Spokesman-Review, we’ve received a number of phone calls and e-mails from people regarding the status of the Parkinson’s Resource Center of Spokane, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit, located in suite 256 of the Deaconess Health and Education Center at 910 W. Fifth Ave.
No matter who comes or goes in the medical community, we will continue to furnish a large selection of free educational materials and assist with support groups such as Women With Parkinson’s Disease and the well-known Tremble Clefs singing group. We will also continue to host the monthly Parkinson’s TeleHealth Program broadcast live from St. Luke’s Rehab providing interactive educational discussions linking people with PD in nearly two dozen rural communities in the Inland Northwest and Alaska. Starting this fall the Dance for Parkinson’s group will get under way – the first program of its kind in our area.
The Parkinson’s Resource Center is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. We’re very much alive and well, and growing!
